Communication

There are many ways in which our parents can keep in touch with the school. As well as the regular reports issued to parents each year detailing pupil progress there are parents nights and information evenings held throughout the course of the school year.

Throughout the year parents are advised by letter of all important matters. Pupils and parents should take any concerns initially to the school through the relevant Principal Teacher of Guidance although serious matters may be referred to the Rector or any member of the Senior Management Team.

At TGS we have also introduced a system of sending text messages to parents with key information. To ensure parent receive these texts care should be taken to update the school of any changes to contact information as soon as possible. We also conduct an annual data check in an effort to keep parental contact information up to date.

Local newspaper the ‘Huntly Express’ gives generous coverage to school news items and, in addition, aims to provide a regular column devoted to The Gordon Schools.

Of course school information and good news stories are regularly posted on our website – usually via our school Twitter account @GordonSchools – to keep parents and the wider communities informed of pupil successes, events, community ventures and so on.
