Introducing Enterprising Aberdeenshire.

We are excited to introduce you to Enterprising Aberdeenshire, a new project dedicated to supporting pre-start and new businesses in Aberdeenshire. Developed and delivered by Aberdeenshire Council, Enterprising Aberdeenshire is funded by the UK Government
through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Each area of Aberdeenshire has its own co-ordinator dedicated to working with businesses and communities locally to support them to grow, connect with each other and thrive together.

Reminder about Free Bus Travel for under 22’s
November 24th, 2022 at 2:56 pm

From 31 January 2022, the Under 22s free bus travel scheme allows 5-21 year olds living in Scotland for more than six months of the year are eligible for free bus travel.

Parents or guardians of 5-15 year olds must apply on their behalf. Children under five years old already travel for free on commercial bus services across Scotland and do not need a card.

Free Bus Travel Scheme

On Tuesday 13th September 2022, the Scottish Minister for Transport approved the launch of the national marketing campaign for the Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme and, in doing so, also celebrated that over 20 million journeys have now been made through the scheme.

The national campaign is continuing with advertising on digital and social media, TV, radio and buses for the next few weeks to help raise awareness of the scheme, showcase the attractiveness and sustainability of bus travel and encourage even more young people across the country to take part.

To apply for your travel enabled National Entitlement Card visit either of these two websites:

freebus.scot or  getyournec.scot

The websites contain helpful information for families and young people about free bus travel; how it works, how to apply, the benefits and some tips for travelling safely. It also features the decision tool feature, to help make it easier for people to understand the different ways they can apply.
